The natural wild animals on Fire Island always fascinate me as I can't imagine how they ever arrived on the island? It would require swimming from the Long Island shoreline and that is a few miles away from FIP! It's been decades of time with nature and man together on this island, so the deer let you get quite close to them and seem unbothered by humans. It's quite an experience to see such a beautiful animal up close.
